Foundation Paper Piecing Class

Discover the fun and precision of Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP)! In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to create beautiful, intricate quilt blocks by sewing fabric directly onto a printed paper foundation.

Sunday, October 18th, Noon - 3pm

We’ll cover the basics of FPP, including how to read a pattern, choose fabrics, accurately piece each section, trim your seams, and assemble your finished block. This technique is perfect for creating crisp points, geometric designs, and detailed quilt patterns that can be difficult to achieve with traditional piecing.

All skill levels are welcome! Whether you’re new to foundation paper piecing or looking to improve your technique, you’ll leave with new skills, helpful tips, and the confidence to tackle your next FPP project.

We will be making a block from the 6" Scrappy Stars Foundation Pad, which will introduce you to the fundamentals of foundation paper piecing and provide material for ongoing practice.

Materials Required:

6" Scrappy Stars Foundation Pad (available in store)
Bring your own sewing machine. If you don't own a machine, please let us know in the notes at checkout that you will need one provided.
Basic sewing kit basic sewing kit, such as scissors, pins, thread, rotary cutter, etc. We do have tools to share in the classroom if needed.
Several small pieces of coordinating fabric at least the size of a  fat eighth (9"x22") each
