10 Inch Improv Class

Spend the day sewing with Jen and let your creativity loose. With the power of improvisation and symmetry, we will create a beautiful throw based on the fabulous pre-cut known as the Layer Cake. You should be an advanced beginner who is already comfortable making basic blocks such as half-square triangles and 4 patch. This is an all day workshop.

Session 1: We will start the morning sorting our stack and talking about color, contrast, and scale. Then we'll get to work sewing our blocks. Pause when the mood strikes you to eat or socialize. We won't finish this project in one day. You will take blocks home to finish. Then we will get together again in a month to talk layout and putting it all together. Please bring your own lunch. We have a limited number of machines available. Please call the shop if you need a machine provided. 

PLEASE NOTE: Session One is January 18th and Session Two is February 15

Session 2: Another full day of sewing as we start to organize our blocks into a layout with balance and movement. The goal is to finish day 2 with a completed quilt top. Again you will sew at your own pace and take breaks as needed. Bring your own lunch.

As always, participants receive 10% off any in-store purchases on day of class.
