This class is for a beginner who has never made a quilt before. The class will cover rotary cutting, rulers, sewing a straight 1/4 inch seam, and proper pressing. You will complete an 18" throw pillow.

If you are someone that has struggled with fabric selection for quilts, take this class. If you’ve looked at a quilt and thought “I’d have NEVER put that fabric in there, but is works!”, take this class. We will look at fabric selections in real quilts that have worked great and some that haven’t worked so great and discuss WHY. We will have hands-on activities with real bolts of fabrics as well. You will leave class with stronger confidence in your abilities to put quilts together!

This 2 session class will teach the basics of a domestic sewing machine. Each student will complete 2 projects. PLEASE NOTE THIS CLASS HAS 2 SESSIONS.

Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) is a quilting technique where you sew fabric scraps to a paper foundation with a printed pattern, following the numbered lines. It is like quilt-by-number! The result is beautifully precise and consistent quilt block.

This class covers converting fractions to decimals, determining how much fabric is needed for blocks, borders, binding, and backing, and how to resize both blocks and quilts. Attendees will leave this class with a working knowledge of how to calculate almost any function needed for quilting!

In this class you will learn to create a simple tote bag which includes sturdy straps and a lining, We will use techniques to "bag out" your tote to conceal all raw fabric edges, insert tote straps, and create a boxed bottom to the bag.

We will be working with Elizabeth Hartman's Outdoors Pattern to go over tips and tricks for perfecting techniques used in any Elizabeth Hartman's patterns.

National Sew a Jelly Roll Day 2026 is on Saturday, September 19, 2026. Initiated by Moda Fabrics, this annual event on the third Saturday of September encourages quilters to use 2.5-inch strip sets for fun, fast projects.
